Earlobe

Earlobe surgery will fix the split earlobe and enable you to wear earrings again. Piercing your ears puts the earlobes at risk for stretching, tearing, and keloid scarring(more than required scarring).

You need an earlobe repair surgery if:

  • You have torn earlobes or elongated piercing tracts.

Expected Outcome

  • Repaired torn earlobe.

  • The scar from the surgery can't be seen easily and it almost always heals well.

Procedure

  • A relatively simple procedure that allows the lobe of the ear to heal back together.

  • The healed skin is cut on the inside of the torn earlobe.

  • The fresh edges are stitched back together.

Post Operation Care

  • Stitches are removed after five to seven days.

  • You can't have your ear re-pierced on the scar or above the scar as it is a weak area, but the re-piercing can be done on either of its sides.
