Rhinoplasty known as 'nose job' or 'nose reshaping' is a procedure to correct and reconstruct the form of the nose.
It restores the functions and enhances the nose aesthetically.
Following people are suitable for rhinoplasty procedure:
If you have an abnormal appearance of the nose due to birth defects, injury or medical conditions.
If you feel your nose is aesthetically unattractive.
Expected Results
You will have an attractive nasal shape in better proportion to other facial features.
Procedure
The procedure is done on the outpatient basis under general anaesthesia.
It involves one external incision across the strut between the nostrils which is called columela.
The bones, cartilages, and soft tissues are then reshaped to improve nasal shape.
Nasal tip correction is done through a less extensive procedure(if only that is required).
Large nostrils are reduced through tiny incisions at the outer base of the nostrils.
Post Operation Care
You can go home with an external splint in place which is removed within one week.
The nose may be packed with surgical gauze/merocell dressing for 48 hours.
Oral medication takes care of the initial discomfort.
Swelling and bruising sunside within three to four weeks maximum.
External Stitches are removed within a week and internal stitches dissolve on their own.
Semi-final result is evident in 3-4 months.
The final result is evident around a year.
